What is Floralia?
Floralia is Connecticut College’s One-Day student spring festival held every year in the month of May. Floralia is known for its live music, dancing and socializing, held outdoors in the Shain Library Amphitheatre. Social dances as well as cultural and sports activities are also among the top events organized by the school organization.
Floralia is designed to celebrate spring and the end of the school year. It is designed to create a space for students to feel a sense of community, accomplishment and connection.
Floralia is a tradition that was started from a Connecticut College Theater Student named Tim Scull (class of ‘97) for a Theater Independent study he was working. The first Floralia was held in 1977 which attended by over 1,000 people!
